Concept & Overview

Racing Through Our Nights is a stylized 2D arcade action game developed in C++ using the classic graphics.h library. Themed after the anime Oshi No Ko, players control Ruby and Aqua battling through waves of dynamic enemies across three challenging stages.

Technical & Memory Engineering

  • Low-Level Graphics Rendering: Overcame library performance bottlenecks by implementing manual image call buffering and frame rasterization to guarantee smooth rendering on older hardware architectures.
  • Boss Mechanics & Enemy AI: Programmed state machines for complex multi-phase encounters, culminating in a climactic battle against a mech robot boss that dynamically spawns mini-shark projectile minions.
  • Academic Context: Completed as a standalone term project under the academic supervision of Dr. Eko Mulyanto Yuniarno S.T., M.T. in the Advanced Programming course at ITS.
