Concept & Overview
Ploong! is an interactive macOS action platformer designed to assist software developers in preventing and managing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). By turning repetitive physical therapeutic hand exercises into engaging arcade mechanics, players actively recover while playing.
Technical & Gameplay Implementation
- Vision Hand-Tracking Input: Utilizes Apple’s Vision framework to track real-time palm positions and hand gestures via the Mac FaceTime camera, translating therapeutic wrist rotations into game controls without touching the keyboard or mouse.
- Physics & Entity Architecture: Engineered core state machines and 2D collision physics using SpriteKit and GameplayKit, managing dynamic enemy wave spawning and score multipliers.
- Interactive Audio: Synchronized sound effects and haptic cues with AVFoundation for immediate player feedback.
Team & Collaboration
- Collaborators: Farrell Sudjatmiko, Joycelyn, Matthew F, Jevon, and Ryvaley.
- Role: Primary developer for core gameplay state logic, physics interactions, and user interface.
