Concept & Overview

OwlLala is an iPadOS educational game engineered to assist parents and educators in teaching children with partial Color Vision Deficiency (CVD). Rather than relying purely on color differentiation, the game trains children to identify everyday objects through alternative contextual cues such as silhouettes, geometric patterns, tactile textures, and spatial context.

Engineering & Architecture

  • Interactive Story & Chapter Navigation: Built an interactive multi-chapter story progression system using SwiftUI, managing branching educational levels and adaptive difficulty curves.
  • Graphic Performance & Metal Framework: Enhanced rendering pipelines and particle effects with Metal to ensure smooth 60fps animations on iPad displays.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing: Implemented unit and integration test suites using the modern Swift Testing framework to validate level progression state machines.

Team & Collaboration

  • Collaborators: Farrell Sudjatmiko, Amanda, Heidy, Stanley, and Steven.
  • Role: Stage progression architecture, chapter navigation, and interactive story selection.
